Vespa 98 by Corradino D’Ascanio Piaggio 1946-47. "The Vespa has an unusual shape resulting from a load-bearing shell frame which has been used in aeronautics, and its name is a playful reference to that shape. The Vespa symbolises freedom. It’s also a product that demonstrates how design can make use of prefabricated components, and how it is a combination of industrial production, practical function and an attractive appearance".
