The new Industrial Parks by Lewis Baltz was published as a limited edition book by Leo Castelli in 1974. The project’s title evokes the sterile industrial architecture and uninhabited landscapes of Irvine’s industrial parks to a process of elegant and unsparing minimalism.

La Mission Photographique de la Datar Hazan was an important photographic mission organised by the DATAR (Délégation à l’aménagement du territoire et à l’action régionale), sending photographers on assignments all over France, inspired by the "Mission héliographique" of the XIXth Century, or the work done for the "Farm Security Administration" by Walker Evans and others. On this mission there were about 30 photographers, working on and off for years, of which Holger Trülsch, Gilbert Fastenaekens, Werner Hannapel, Gabriele Basilico, Hervé Rabot, Tom Drahos, Robert Doisneau, Joseph Koudelka, and Lewis Baltz.
